Senior Panel : DIV 1 AND 2 GRAND FINAL APPOINTMENTS

The NUA Executive invites all current and past umpires, and also our esteemed Life Members to the announcement of the 2010 Division 1 and Division 2 Grand Final Panels, which will occur after training on Wednesday 8 Sep, in the rooms at the Garvey Oval at Parade College.

Roast beef rolls and finger foods will be served at no cost, with drinks available at normal bar prices.

A reminder also that Division 3 Grand Final Panels will be announced tomorrow night, Wednesday 1 Sep.

Social : SENIOR PRESENTATION NIGHT

Bookings are now being taken for the NUA Senior Presentation Night to be held on Friday October 1 at Greensborough RSL (Main Rd, Greensborough).

Tickets will be $30, which will include a 3-course meal.

Tables will be a Maximum of 10.

The Senior Presentation Night is the final formal celebration of the 2010 NFL Season for Umpires and provides Grand Final panel umpires from all three divisions with a pictorial memory of the day. In addition, the prestigous AFL Victoria Golden Whistle is awarded.

We welcome umpires' families and friends, along with past and Life Members of the Association to attend and share the evening.

Dress Code for the Event is Formal/After 5 Wear.

See a Member of Exec ASAP to pay for your seat.

Please advise if you have specific dietary requirements/allergies which we need to alert the venue about.

The NUA Executive is concerned at the increasing trend on the field and recent media attention being placed on cases of umpire abuse in the football community.

With Junior Finals commencing and Senior Finals approaching, the inherent pressure on the field will dramatically increase.

The NUA Executive strongly support a ZERO tolerance approach to umpire abuse of any kind.

News : URGENT: Albury Trip Deposits REQUIRED

All members wanting to attend the Albury trip in 2010 (October 7, 8 & 9) MUST have their initial $50 deposit in by Wednesday, July 28. If your deposit is not available by this time, your name will be taken from the list, and you will not be permitted to attend.

News : TRIBUNAL ADVOCATES FOR UMPIRES

All umpires who feel the need for the support of an advocate at the NFL Tribunal need to contact Tony Mahony on 0413 372 004 by 7.00pm on the Sunday night following their report. Any requests received after this time cannot be guaranteed support at the tribunal.

There is a panel of six experienced umpires who have volunteered their time to provide this service for NUA members.
